Entering the Order Correctly, the First Time
The timeliness, and completeness of your customer’s order is paramount to your team’s completing that order correctly, in an efficient manner, and delivering it on-time to your customer. When the information for a loan, a manufactured product, or an insurance claim is taken or entered incorrectly there’s a ripple effect of negative consequences. Any of these sound familiar?
“Often times when customers ask for a status update we are unable and uncertain of what to tell them.” Many of the companies we consult with are unsure of the ‘next step’ and don’t know the current reasons why orders are not processing smoothly. “Expediting requires us to by-pass the standard process and go to any length to complete and ship the order.” At TGG we use a principle of 1:10:100 to communicate the real cost of making errors when we bypass the standard process. $ 1 or 1 hour is the cost if we catch the problem at the source. It costs $ 10 and 10 hours if we catch the error within our organization (downstream). $ 100 or 100 hours is the cost if the problem gets to the customer.
